Without oil, slate has a beautiful rustic chalky gray look. With food-grade mineral oil applied, it darkens to a rich black with a sleek, polished finish. Select "Apply Oil" and we'll apply it before shipping (allow an extra 24 hours). Just a pea-sized drop goes a long way - reapply twice a year as needed.
